There are so many creative and fun activities that students can do at this web site. I have used this site many times for Fun Friday activities. Students can find images off the internet or they can take digital images around the school. I am linking some of the "final" products that i created, but the creative possibilities are unlimited. Just be sure the site is not blocked through your school!

Flipsnack is a sub site (called a widget) of snacktools.com. Convert any document into a .pdf form and then upload to FlipSnack.com to convert the .pdf into a stylish page flip book. You can choose from several options including a hardback book or a spiral bound book. Once you publish your book you can embed it into a web site, or send it via email or share the url. This is a great way for students to publish their works and share with friends and family. Registration is free. There is a version that allows you more options, but you must purchase points in order to use these options.
Note: To convert a PowerPoint presentation (or any Microsoft document) into .pdf form, open the file in PowerPoint and click File, Save As. At the Save As dialog box choose .pdf from the file of type dropdown list and click Save.

other widgets available from snacktools.com
![Picture](/uploads/1/6/0/0/16007664/649701.png)
Listed in the image to the left are all the widgets available at snacktools.com. Each of these widgets has a specific purpose and all have a free level. Get creative and see how many different widgets you can use in your classes. Consider a photoslide show of images that represent a student's life or future goals, or of images that were taken with a digital camera or scanner if you are teaching these tools. What about a fun quiz, poll, or survey added to a web site using pollsnack. Work in collaboration with a teacher in a traditional field to create a multimedia presentation that can be shared online. Using slidesnack, the traditional students provide the content and your technology students create the slidesnack presentation.
In addition, snacktools.com has a free web site builder called: snackwebsites.com. At this site you can watch an introductory video that will help you get started building your own free site.
Also, snacktools.com has a free banner maker called: bannersnack.com. In addition to making .gif banners, this widget also allows you to create flash banner ads, multimedia presentations, website headers, and more. Lots of opportunity for creativity here! Have your students create banner ads for web sites or multimedia presentations that would rival PowerPoint or even Prezi. You just have to use your imagination.

Allows students to take timed writings online against random competitors. Free registration or play free as a guest. If you register, the site will keep track of your WPM and ranking among other "competitors". The site also has a practice
section where typing skills can be practiced before a test is taken. This site also has a blog, a forum, and a "pit stop" page where you can customize your profile, make new friends, and share messages.

Students can take timed writings after choosing from several options including length of timed writing, subject of timed writing and language. This site also has typing games and a typing blog that discusses the need for good typing skills in the corporate world as well as tips for teaching touch typing and other topics of interest. There is also a typing tutor, but this is not a free option. This site does have a lot of ads, but you can get past that easily and I have never seen any ads that are inappropriate.
